One year ago today, I nervously launched this blog with my post on Decadent Cookies & Cream Truffles. It was something I had been thinking about for years but never done. It was scary to take that leap – was I really going to share recipes and travel tips with the internet? What did I even have to offer?
I am so glad that I put my nerves aside and dived right in! I’ve found blogging fun, challenging, and rewarding. Not only that but it’s something I want to do. It’s something I look forward to. I’m constantly thinking about new recipe and topics. And I’ve gotten better too – if you look at my first post compared to now, you will surely see a difference in quality.
I encourage all of you to take that leap. Do the thing that scares you. Do what you’ve always dreamed of doing. Blogging has been so much fun and way less scary than it sounded a year ago. And I want to thank all of you who have been reading and following this blog for coming along for the ride!
Year 1 highlights:
- 40 posts published, including this one. It might not be a lot compared to other bloggers, but my goal was 24 so I’ve far surpassed that!
- 87 followers on WordPress and 54 on Instagram – thank you all for joining me 🙂
- 2000+ visitors in 2019
- My top three posts were Homemade Stoney Tangawizi Ginger Beer, Ethiopian Spiced Clarified Butter, and Ethiopian Shiro Wat
Thank you all for joining I can’t wait for year 2! What do you all want to see more of? Let me know in the comments below.
Congrats on your milestone! ❤
